from Arabian Meal to Saung Mang Ujo

Another thing that makes me feel so grateful for marrying Billy is that he really likes travel (no doubt I too!). It's my bad that I haven't post up our trip to Bunaken (somehow, sometimes bloging feels like doing exercise when I'm not in the mood... so very lazy!) But I've post some photos on facebook though, check it out here and there !

Our last trip was one night escape to Bandung, which was a week ago. We tried my sister's booth "Arabian Meal" at Superindo Dago Bandung, it was not bad! I think a lot about their cinmilk cheesy bread lately! It's arabian's bread spread with milk and cinnamon powder and not to forget; cheeeeeeeeeez! So tasty when it's hot! The bread it self is already tasty actually, plus I like cinnamon, and cheese is my forever love so it's a great combination indeed. The beef curry is also tasty, with cheesy bread of course and I really like to pour it with chilly powder, perfecto! Billy said it taste like Indian meal he tried, but oh well... Indian, Arabian... potahto, potayto! hehehe... Oh, and don't forget the milk-mint-tea, it taste odd at first gulp, but then so freshy! here are some pics...

From there we went to Saung Mang Ujo at Cicaheum, East Bandung. I had no idea what kind of place that is, my only clue is that we heading there to watch angklung performance but by whom and how... no idea! Billy went there once and thinks that it's a worth place to visit and I, without question, absolutely trust the man.

We paid 50k IDR per person for the entrance ticks, we arrived around 3.oo PM as the performance starts at 3.30 PM. We still have time to spin around the souvenir shop before the show begin. They sell sort of Sundanese crafts like wayang golek, wood statues, t-shirts... sort of stuffs. We didn't buy anything! We still don't have any place to put such thing at home. *doh!*

How was the show? It was so very entertaining! I love it! There were Sundanese dance (I hardly remember the name but I'm sure it's not Jaipong), wayang golek performance, ensemble of traditional music instruments, and the last is angklung performance by children in various ages. The smallest I presume is around 3 or 4 years old, very very cute! I imagine my nephews doing angklung performance like that hahahaha.... fantastic! And at the end of the show, all the audiences were asked to play angklung together, lead by Mang ***** Ujo, the son of Mang Ujo him self (and I, unsurprisingly forget his name :P).

The last part was the most fun! We were leaded to play our angklung's note by hand signals to play some songs. It kinda amazed me how the leader can remember every hand signal for every note to play a song correctly (of course cause that is what he does everyday... doh!). So our brain was created to remember so many many things actually but somehow I let so many parts of my brain not to keep a lot of memories disregarding it's capability... hehehe :P

And the performance was closed with dance together with the audiences and children. After we play angklung those children with colorful cloths run in to the hall from all over and pick some audiences they want to dance along with them. Each child pick one audience to go to the stage to dance along, luckily I was one of them that was picked by a cute girl named Sara. Sweet!
