6 dives at Amed and Tulamben

Our main purpose traveling to Bali two weeks ago was to dive. As I said on previous post, Billy wanted to upgrade his level from advance diver to rescue diver. Me too, I wanna be able to dive deeper. Since we both have great passion on diving, we just cant wait to get wet and hope to swim with fishes as soon as we touch down Bali.

We've been prepared! On our previous dive trip, at Bunaken, we were able to take some pictures since there were an underwater camera for rent. I've been asked and tried to find if there's also such facility at Bali, the result was uncertain. So finally we decided to buy a new pocket camera with it's underwater case. It wasn't an easy thing to find but we finally managed to get one. We both love it, we both happy for having it! That thing is superb!

Long story short.... Since there are so many pictures, I'm just gonna post some good shots we took here. Oh but before I start downloading pictures, I'm gonna need to tell the spots where we took these pictures. Some picture was taken when we snorkeled or dived at Amed, in front of Bayu cottage. There were also some shots at Japanese ship wreck at Amed, then US ship wreck at Tulamben. When we dived at Tulamben, we met a big school of jack fish, swimming in circle surrounding us. There were thousands of them! That was such experience I hardly forget. And also some shots from a night dive at Japanese wreck. And if you ask who toke these pictures? Most pictures were taken by Billy, some by me. But on night dive, all pictures were taken by Billy. Enough with words! Here there are.......

missing u already, ocean! hope to dive in you again soon! :)

10 days trip to Bali with my lil family...

It started at our car when Billy said he wants to continue diving. We didn't took diving class just as a once-in-a-life-time-experience, he said. Billy wants to continue the course to next level: dive rescue. And I want to be an advance diver. Open water license not allow me to dive deeper then 18 meters. As the topic appear, I can barely hide my grin. Thank God I'm married to a diver!

At first we chose to take our next PADI course at Karimun Java island, we made some plan to traveling there by car from Jakarta. It sounded quite fun, unless the fact that we have 6 months old baby, traveling that far by car wouldn't definitely b comfy for him. So Bali is our destination...

There we go with so much luggage: a baby stroller, one big suitcase, 2 snorkel equipments bags, one camera bag, one baby's stuff bag, one cooler bag, three other bags, and one little suitcase from Izan's nanny.... it's the risque if u plan to travel with baby! :)

Billy has prepared everything: car, map, hotels, PADI course... all checked! So as we arrived at Denpasar the car that we gonna rent for the next 10 days was ready. Our 1st destination is to Amed, east Bali. We passed Sidemen for it's amazing view...

>>At Sidemen, too bad it was kinda cloudy.

A few hours later we finally arrived at Amed. We stayed a night at Coral View Hotel before finally move to Bayu Cottage where we took the course, they were full. The owner of Bayu is our dive instructor, an Indonesia architect married to a Dutch, also mom of a 3 years old son, she's the 1st female PADI instructor in Bali.

I love Amed for it's peaceful surrounding, and I love Bayu for it's very kind hospitality. Mbak Unieng, our dive instructor were kindly aware the difficulties of bring a baby on travel, so she provides us a baby cot and baby bath tub without charge! I like her a lot. We got a room with a straight view to ocean, I think all their rooms has straight view to ocean...

After 5 days at Amed, and of course the course with 5 times dives, plus 1 night dive (I'll talk about the dive on next post), we then moved to Ubud. We passed through Batur lake, had lunch at a place, i forgot the name, that has marvelous view to the lake.

Before that we stopped a t a Pura named Ulun Danu Batur. Somehow, u can't tell that u've been to Bali if u havn't visit and take picture in any pura there.... :p

Before get to Ubud, there was a place that Billy had been so curious to visit, it is called Desa Trunyan. What is unique in there is the way they treat the dead body. As what Billy read it says that they just mummified dead bodies and leave it like that. Too bad that the access to the cemetery is unreached by car, the only way to get there is by boat, but the locals has put an unbelievable high price for a short trip, and anyway I don't think is a good idea to take our baby on a boat... so we passed.

On our first night at Ubud we pushed our self to watch Kecak dance. We left Izan on the hotel with his nanny, not to forget his milk if he needs one. I love Kecak dance, it's so worth to watch. And there was also Trance dance, a dance with fire which quite nice to be some photos.

>>Trance dance

The next day we took Izan to see monkeys on monkey forest. But apparently, after bath and breakfast is actually time for his morning nap, so he didn't totally enjoy those monkey, he was too sleepy. :p

We spend the afternoon for crazy shopping at Sukawati traditional art market and pasar Ubud for souvenirs... The sound of "k'chingg!!!" is echoing everywhere.... yaiks!

After one more night at Ubud, we finally moved to Kuta. The day after we spent the whole morning (or maybe it was already afternoon) to do some water sport. then managed to visit Garuda Wisnu Kencana just to take some pictures since it was a crazy hot day, of course we left Izan in the car with the AC on with his nanny. At the evening, as we arrived at Kuta, we took Izan to wet his feet on Kuta beach :)
We were so tired at the end of that day so me and Billy decided to spend the whole night at hotel, despite of tasting fresh seafood at Jimbaran we prefer to call McD delivery for dinner :p

And the next day... fly back to Jakarta, bring along great memories, photos, fatigue, and sunburn :)

Thanx Ayah Billy for the wonderful trip :) We love u!!!!
